Key Stage 2 Tests
Can you please encourage your children to continue to complete as many revision packs as possible. We have a special pizza afternoon planned for children that have completed all 7 books by the end of April 2018.
We would like to thank you for all your continued support and encouragement regarding these revision packs. We have been amazed by how many books the children have already completed.
When are the SATs?
The Year 6 SATs take place from Monday 14th May 2018 to Thursday 17th May 2018. We would encourage children to arrive at school promptly so that we can make sure the children are calm and settled ready for the tests to begin. We will also be supplying free breakfasts for all Y6 children during SATs week.
The timetable for the week is as follows:
Monday 14th May 2018
EGPS Test (English Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling Test)
Tuesday 15th May 2018
Wednesday 16th May 2018
Maths Papers 1 & 2
Thursday 17th May 2018
Maths Paper 3
The Key Stage 2 Tests for 2019 are timetabled from Monday 13th May to Thursday 16th May 2019.
The weekend before SATs we would like to take your children on a FREE residential visit to Kingswood Peak Venture which is located in Penistone. The trip will begin on Friday 11th May 2018 at 2pm and we will return to school on Sunday 13th May 2018 at approximately 2:30pm.
The residential is key to the preparation of SATs. Children get to enjoy a relaxing weekend with their peers taking part in exciting challenges such as Zip-wire, Archery and Laser tag as well as being supported with revision activities.
More details regarding this visit will follow shortly.
During the first week of the Easter holidays, we are opening school and would like to invite Y6 children to attend an Easter Club. The club will start on Monday 26th March 2018 and runs until Thursday 29th March 2018. The club will open at 8:30am and finish at 12:30pm. Children will be provided with a free breakfast and will also be allowed to walk to and from school independently. Children are allowed to bring bikes, scooters and rollerblades into school to use during break times. However, they will be responsible for these items.
The Easter Club is essential to helping children prepare for the SATs. We will only have 2 weeks after the Easter holidays before the SATs and would encourage all children to attend Easter Club. On the Thursday, we will have a small party to celebrate them attending all the Easter classes during the week.
Please remember that our revision sessions take place on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday after school. Children who attend these classes will gain points towards The University of East Dene and will be given free entry into Friday after school club. If you are unable to collect your child after the clubs then please contact school to arrange for a member of staff to take your child home.
We will be holding a SATs information meeting on Wednesday 28th February 2018 at 3:30pm. We hope to see as many of you there as possible.
