Admissions

Admissions to F1 are done through the school. Parents need to complete a small form available from the school office and return with their child’s Birth Certificate.  Parents will then receive a letter inviting them to a meeting where they will be given a start date and further details. When a child is due to move to F2 a booklet is sent to all current F1 children for Parents to complete with their preferences.

For admissions to F2 – Year 6 parents need to apply through Rotherham Borough Council.

There is no automatic transfer between Foundation Stage 1 (nursery) and Foundation Stage 2 and all parents must submit an application for a school place.

Before you apply make sure you have read the Admission to Primary School Booklet 2015/2016 so that you fully understand our admission process and criteria.

When should I apply?

From 1 August 2014 you will be able to apply online for a place in Foundation Stage 2 of a primary school in September 2015.  You can apply online until 3rd December 2014.  Please note that you should only apply via Rotherham Authority if you are a Rotherham resident.

You will also be able to apply by completing the Common Application Form and returning it to the School Admissions Team by 15 January 2015.

If you are applying for a Church of England or Catholic Primary School you will need to complete an Additional Information Form as well as submitting your application on-line or by application form.

It is the responsibility of parents/carers to apply for a school place and if your application is late, you are far less likely to get a
place at one of your preferred schools.

What will happen when I apply for a place?

When you apply for a place in a primary school you will be asked to decide on up to 3 schools that you would like your child to go to.

You will be asked to name these schools in your order of preference. The Admissions Authority will then determine whether or not your child is eligible for admission to each school.  You can find more information about our admissions criteria in our Admission to Primary School Booklet 2015/2016 which will be available to download from this page after 1 August 2014.

If the governing body of a voluntary aided school is responsible for admissions, they will determine who is eligible for a place and inform the Admissions Authority.  You can download the admissions policies for individual voluntary aided schools on our website.

Letters advising parents/carers of the outcome of their application will be posted on the national offer day of 16 April 2015.

How do I apply for a place?

If you are a Rotherham resident you must apply for a place in a primary school using either one of the following methods:

  • You can apply using the online form between 1 August and 3 December 2014.
  • You can apply using the Common Application Form until the 15 January 2015.

If you do not live in Rotherham you should contact your local Admissions Team for further advice.

All applications received up to and including 15 January 2015 will be included in the initial allocation process.
